Topic: Machine Learning for X-ray Coherent Diffractive Imaging
Speaker: Filipe Maia, Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at Uppsala University
When: 12 January 2021 at 10.00-11.00
Location: Online - link by registration

Filipe Maia is Professor at Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Molecular Biophysics at Uppsala University. His research focuses on the development of new diffractive imaging methods, in particular, he leads the femtosecond diffractive imaging community venture at the  European XFEL.

A common theme in these new imaging methods is the replacement of experimental constraints by complex advanced data analysis, fuelled by increasing data-acquisition rates together with advances in computing power. He's also engaged in improving reproducibility in science, which led him to found CXIDB, the Coherent X-ray Imaging Data Bank, currently hosting more than 500 TB of data from coherent diffractive-imaging experiments.
