Derek Logan is professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Structural Biology at the Centre for Molecular Protein Science, Lund University. He applies X-ray and neutron crystallography, small-angle X-ray scattering and cryo-electron microscopy, as well as various biophysical and biochemical techniques, to the study of protein structure. He has a particular interest in the mechanism and allosteric regulation of ribonucleotide reductases and ligand binding to the galectin family. Derek is also a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of the structural biology contract research organisation SARomics Biostructures AB, active in the area of early stage drug discovery.
