Nils Skoglund, Associate professor at Thermochemical Energy Conversion Laboratory, Umeå University, Sweden
Docent Skoglund conducts research in the recovery of nutrients and other elements from anthropogenic waste streams and biomass residues, where thermochemical conversion by combustion, gasification, or pyrolysis plays an important role. X-ray analytical techniques are paramount for understanding how such elements are bonded in ashes or biochar materials which is where synchrotron-based analysis is an invaluable tool in this line of secondary raw material research.
