AI Lund, COMPUTE, eHealth@LTH, LINXS, EUGLOH and other partners will organize a follow up to Hack the Crisis, which was hosted by the Swedish Government. This will also be integrated with the European hackathon https://euvsvirus.org/. It is for people with coding skills but also for those who have non-computational projects or just some ideas as all work is done in teams. Participants can contribute as much or as little as they want, ranging from a few ideas submitted for brainstorming to full-time hacking. The mission is to design, test and execute ideas for the future of Sweden and the world. We want to gather creative ideas and develop concepts in an attempt to create solutions helping us make further progress in the ongoing resistance. This hackathon is a context for all parts of society to contribute – public sector, private sector, academia, non-profit organizations and citizens, who want to join in the fight.
Like Hack the Crisis, we will allow computational and non-computational projects (e.g. social science research projects or projects focusing on building healthcare equipment). The majority of projects will be preselected to consolidate efforts around those that are most likely to reach concrete significant outcomes (e.g. academic value or clear societal value). Projects can also be subtasks in larger projects that wil go on over a much longer period. Projects which have already made some progress and projects involving at least one participant from Lund University or public authorities will be prioritized.
We will not have prizes as we rather want to encourage collaboration across projects.
Registration will remain open until the last day of the hackathon so you can jump in anytime. To register please join our communication channel on discord: https://discord.gg/HXjc9h
If you have concrete COVID-19 projects to propose for the hackathon, please email to sonja.aits@med.lu.se with the subject line "HackCOVID19Lund - project suggestion" and the following information:
1. Project leader: (including affiliation)
2. Others involved: (including affiliation; it is not required to have people already)
3. Project aim and value: (2 sentences max)
4. Skills needed: (also think of skill such as communication, marketing, etc)
5. Project status: (if you have done work already please summarize, otherwise write "new idea")
6. EUvsVirus participation: yes or no
It is optional for people to also include their work in the pan-European EUvsVirus hackathon on April 24-26 but we encourage this as a way to get input and find more collaborators. If you want to also take part in EUvsVirus, please do not forget to sign up at https://euvsvirus.org/ and read their instructions.
