The MATRAC 1 school on neutrons and synchrotron Radiation in Engineering Materials GREATLY APPRECIATED LINXS' SUPPORT and VENUE!
LINXS hosted the MATRAC 1 School in March. The school, “Application of Neutrons and Synchrotron Radiation in Engineering Materials Science” provided a systematic overview of the application of neutrons and synchrotron radiation to the structural analysis of engineering materials. Students and young scientists from research and industry were taught to use research facilities (e.g. PETRA III and MAX IV) to solve their scientific challenges. The focus of the training was on synchrotron experiments.
In this interview, Dr. Philipp Klauz Pranzas, one of the organisers of the school, from the Institute of Materials Physics, Das Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, shares his thoughts about using LINXS’ venue.
How did you find hosting the school at LINXS?
– We really enjoyed being at LINXS. The LINXS colleagues have supported us perfectly and the (working) atmosphere was very nice. The seminar room was a little small for about 50 participants and lecturers, but everything worked out very smoothly.
Would you consider coming here again?
– Of course, in 2025!
What did the students think of the venue?
– They were also very pleased.
Can LINXS be a facilitator to make improve the content of the school?
– We hope that we can repeat this successful collaboration during the next MATRAC 1 School in 2025.
The MATRAC 1 School is significantly funded by German and Swedish authorities.
